OFT launches revised debt collection guidance

Debt collection guidance from the OFTUpdated guidance published by the OFT sets out specific business practices which it considers improper or unfair. These include the use of social networking websites, such as Twitter and Facebook, to contact debtors, contacting debtors at unreasonable times and contacting debtors at inappropriate locations.

This updated guidance is directed at all businesses involved in debt recovery, including banks and law firms.
