Land registration: new policy

Management company official stamp

The Land Registry (HMLR) has implemented a new practice for dealing with applications to enlarge long leases under section 153 of the Law of Property Act 1925.

When dealing with such an application, HMLR will now record in the property register of the landlord’s title that a lease previously granted out of it has been enlarged. The landlord’s title will indicate the title number of the enlarged lease and vice versa.
